On occasion I wanted to install Linux on an old machine that had support for USB and CD not served. So that research on the Internet I found Boot Manager Plop an application that is installed as an additional layer between the BIOS boot and operating system.
If I tell them I have an old machine with 3 partitions on the first I have XP installed on the second is a pure backup files and the third another installation of XP but unattended version.
There are several options for Plop Install Boot Manager but I just mention one of many ways to do it.
1. Download the following Zip plpgenbtldr the current version of the page http://www.plop.at/en/home.html in dowlands section in this case I plpgenbtldr-0.7.zip download
2 . After unpacking the Zip files to be copied and plpgenbtldr.com plpbt.bin to the root of drive C:
3. Once done just need to execute the file by double clicking plpgenbtldr.com in English tell us that the process was successful.
4. now need to edit the file C: \\ boot.ini to see that you have to modify the OS to see hidden files once you've done this just add the following line to c: \\ plpbtldr.bin = "PLoP Boot Manager."
When you restart Windows, plop appear as an option.
If all goes well, plop is the first thing you see when you start your computer unless you boot from another boot loader such as LILO, GRUB or the Windows
. His appearance is:
Now just to install Linux you need to have the ISO for distribution and transfer it to a USB stick with programs like Unebotin.
